A short film about how women are underrepresented in areas of society.
The five percentages relate to that: 22.5% of the total of MPs are women, 15.6% of High Court judges are women, the average gender pay gap is 15.5% per hour, 7% of the executive directors on the FTSE 100 boards are women and 5% of the national daily newspapers editors are women.

Made out of Perspex and LED strips, they are connected to the same power supply to emphasise that this is not an isolated problem, but a reccurring pattern.

If you are a Bristol based student please do join me & Myrna on this cut & paste workshop tomorrow at Bower Ashton some time between 11.30-2.00pm in the Foyer space (near the Canteen).

A newspaper publication that aims to highlight certain areas in which women are underrepresented and less instrumental in comparison to men. A selection of newspaper articles was used as a reference to highlight this lack of visibility of women and the problems that have arisen from this.

Have finally learnt how to make a gif. This is part of my final year project about how women are underrepresented in certain areas.

A short video made a little while ago containing interviews with members of a women only cycling group, after taking part in one of their cycling trips. It aims to encourage more women to cycle. The video touches upon some of the issues that exist, hindering women from be just as active cyclists as men.

28 Mar 2013 / 25 notes / design

My submission for ISTD, International Society of Typographic Designers’ student competition. The book is containing two narratives, bound back to back, upside down. One is about Ben Barker, a passionate and dedicated community volunteer meanwhile the other one contextualises his work by being an investigation into the Big Society initiative.

A short film portraying Bristol Women’s Workshop, a women only space that teaches carpentry skills to participants who historically have been excluded from this area. The description is given by Anne, the founder of the workshop.
